HISTORICAL ROMANCE

NEW RELEASE!

Manhattan (Becker Brothers) By -Kandi Steiner.

BLURB

Everyone knows not to fall in love with your best friend.

But when your best friend is Michael Becker, it’s impossible not to.

He’s everything our town knows a Becker brother to be: devastatingly handsome, charming as a thief, and the icing on the cake — a sentimental musician who’s never without his guitar.

And he was mine. At least, that’s what I’d convinced myself.

Our bond was born in elementary school, strengthened by circumstance and the promise to always be there for each other, no matter what. And the best thing about my life was being friends with Michael Becker.

Until it was the worst.

I watched him fall in love with someone else, and helped patch him back up when she left him behind. But when he drops the bomb that he’s moving to New York, I realize it’s my last chance to tell him how I feel. And I ask him to make one more promise.

One summer. One list of adventures to remind him that our small town has more to offer than memories of the girl who left him behind.

STEINER CAN DO NO WRONG!!

This has to be my favorite Kandi Steiner book, ever. I was partial to Weightless but ‘Manhattan’ takes the cake. Truthfully speaking, this was my first intro to the Becker bother’s. I’d purchased one and two but read three instead. Completely a*# backwards, I know. But as it turns out this book is a standalone and I was able follow easily without any hick-ups or confusion.

The Becker boys are a sought-after handsome band of brothers. Mikey (Michael) is the youngest. He has a best friend named Kylie who has a secret crush on him…of which he’s unaware. Or maybe he didn’t care to see. Stuck in an unrequited relationship he thinks is reciprocal; Kylie isn’t hardly on his radar. At least not as a lover just a friend.

Kylie is a wonderful character. She steals the show. She’s not only beautiful on the outside she’s a total stunner inside too. She’s kind, giving, the kind person that would take the shirt of their back to help those in need. She seems to have everything she wants…all except one handsome pal she’s had her eye for well over a decade. Will Kylie finally be brave and express what has been in her heart for a long while? Will these two broken souls come together and finally have the happily ever after they both deserve? Find out yourself!

This story is entertaining, gripping; pulls you right in from the start. Words can’t express just how much I love Manhattan. And trust me you’ll love it too. It’s just that good! 😊

ABOUT KANDI

Kandi Steiner is a bestselling author and whiskey connoisseur living in Tampa, FL. Best known for writing “emotional rollercoaster” stories, she loves bringing flawed characters to life and writing about real, raw romance — in all its forms. No two Kandi Steiner books are the same, and if you’re a lover of angsty, emotional, and inspirational reads, she’s your gal.

An alumna of the University of Central Florida, Kandi graduated with a double major in Creative Writing and Advertising/PR with a minor in Women’s Studies. She started writing back in the 4th grade after reading the first Harry Potter installment. In 6th grade, she wrote and edited her own newspaper and distributed to her classmates. Eventually, the principal caught on and the newspaper was quickly halted, though Kandi tried fighting for her “freedom of press.” She took particular interest in writing romance after college, as she has always been a die hard hopeless romantic, and likes to highlight all the challenges of love as well as the triumphs.

When Kandi isn’t writing, you can find her reading books of all kinds, talking with her extremely vocal cat, and spending time with her friends and family. She enjoys live music, traveling, anything heavy in carbs, beach days, movie marathons, craft beer and sweet wine — not necessarily in that order.

NEW RELEASE!!!

Tangled: Emerson Falls, Book 1 by -Harlow James.

BLURB:

Kane:

One night, that’s all it was supposed to be. Tony—my confidant and the bartender I made friends with when I moved to Emerson Falls, Oregon—pushed me to have some fun, a word I’ve forgotten the meaning of since I was betrayed three years ago. But that deep red hair and those curves on that woman drew me in.

After life-altering sex, I resigned myself to the fact I’d never see her again. But it seems the universe had other plans. Now we work together and I’m feeling things I never thought I could feel again. Before I know it, we’re so tangled up in each other, these feelings I’ve avoided for years come rushing back, and I feel like I’m on top of the world…That is until a ghost from my past threatens to tear my happiness apart once more.

Olivia:

I’m thirty-one and single, again. After catching my boyfriend with his dick in his secretary, I take off and head back home to Emerson Falls, reuniting with my family and my three best friends after years away. An out of character decision of mine to have a one-night-stand leads to the best sex I’ve ever had in my life with a man that makes me want more than just orgasms from him.

Lucky for me, we cross paths again when I realize he’s actually one of my new co-workers.

After a push and pull of emotions, he finally admits he wants more with me, and I fall—hard. Just when all the pieces of my life feel like they’re finally falling into place, fate stirs the pot and threatens to shatter our romance. The threads of our lives were woven so tight, neither one of us thought that the edges could fray. Now the question is, can we untangle the mess and find our happily ever after?

OMG! What a story! Sad to say I’ve never read a Harlow James book before. Boy was I missing out. James is an incredible writer. My introduction to Kane and Olivia’s world was a stellar one that did not disappoint.

It starts with Kane’s POV. A war hero, returning home after serving his country. Unfortunately, Kane gets the welcome home surprise he didn’t want. A surprise he never saw coming. Shocked, and hurt

he gather’s remnants of his shattered life he tried building with someone under false pretenses of love.

Fast forward years later, he is a school teacher who meets the beautiful girl he’d had a one-night fling with. Working. At his job. How can this be? He’d thought he was finished; one-and-done.

But now having Olivia there at his work, is proving difficult to ignore. Especially when he’d declared he’d never love again.

Soon he’s aware that was a lie. A vow he’d told himself to protect his heart. Olivia challenges that and then-some and everything he ever thought he knew about love.

These two characters were wonderful to read, felt so real. Their conflict; realistic. The chemistry was wonderful. Loved how Harlow was able to show emotion in her writing. She is an amazing storyteller and I’m glad to have read this amazing story.

Asking For a Friend / (Boyfriend Material Book 1) – by Lauren Blakely .

Blurb:

I was only trying to help a friend. I swear. I was legit asking for a friend who was finally ready to date again.

I knew what she wanted in a man — smart, funny, ambitious, well-read (no, the sports section doesn’t count), and plays a wicked game of badminton.

So I did what any good friend would do. Posted it for her. It seemed like a good idea at the time — I’d weed through the candidates, and bring her my top picks. But then he responded.
Is it wrong to date the guy I screened for my bestie? Not asking for a friend.

Indulge in the BOYFRIEND MATERIAL series! Three best friends. Three outrageous proposals. Three chances to fall in love. Three brand new standalones from Lauren Blakely!

*An ARC was provided in exchange for an honest review*

When I heard Lauren Blakely I said “Uh, yes, please!” Her books do that to me. If you haven’t read one you’re missing out. In fact, you should probably start right here with this one: Book #1 of her ‘Boyfriend Material’ series. I had a ball reading! Very entertaining fun and fresh rom-com! True to Blakely’s signature storytelling, character development and witty banter.

Asking For A Friend starts out with Amy Summers; a junior editor at a literary agency. Who’s on a sabbatical from men and focusing solely on her career. She loves books, loves her job and is quite content until Linc Silver bull-dozes her world.

Linc is the new senior editor who used to reside in Los Angeles, and is trying to get used the perils of New York city. (Don’t want to spoil it for you, but there’s a scene where he talks about vermin that had me dying). Linc notices the ‘Ice Queen’ as he calls her and finds her very attractive but too uptight for his liking. Soon the attraction builds and they both wonder why they can’t stop thinking of one another.

When Amy decides to help her friend is where everything ignites. The flame is lite. However Amy has no idea her sudden interest in the guy on her dating app is really Clark Kent behind the screen.

Their banter was stellar: fun, flirty realistic chemistry. The steam factor was off the charts. The build up. The show of emotions was everything I expected from Lauren, but even more-so. I also enjoyed the secondary characters too and can’t wait to see if either of them are in book #2.

Final thoughts….

I highly recommend reading! It’s definitely a story you need in your life.

Giovanni: a Dark Mafia Romance By – Natasha Knight

Title: Giovanni: a Dark Mafia Romance by – Natasha Knight

BLURB:

I’m the right-hand man of the mafia king. She’s a girl with a past she’s desperate to hide.

But I need something from her.
And I know she won’t help me.

Not willingly.
She’ll need some persuading.

Lucky for her, I can do that. Something about this girl makes me curious, though, and it’s more than the scars that line her back. She’s on the edge of something. Something bad.

She’s like a perfect, beautiful doll coming apart at the seams. And the last string is about to snap. She thinks I’ll hurt her. Break her. But thing is, she’s already broken. And she and I, we’re two peas in a pod. She’s my match, the perfect opponent. She’ll fight me to the finish, but I’ll win. I always do.

Because I’m a man used to getting what I want. And what I want is her.

Author’s Note: Giovanni is a STANDALONE dark mafia romance set in the Benedetti Brothers Mafia World. It’s an emotionally gripping enemies-to-lovers romance with a hard-earned HEA.

Kay, so, I didn’t know what to expect going in as this was my first time reading a book from Natasha Knight. Boy was I impressed. Sucked in from the first line. Kind of reminded me of the thrill I felt while reading the first line of Sparrow by L.J. Shen. Thrilling. I knew I would love every bit of this book, as I did my aforementioned favorite.

First things first…

Giovanni, Giovanni, Giovanni…oh my! Hot isn’t strong enough an adjective to describe this alpha mafia god. He’s demanding, dominate, stunningly gorgeous and ruthless; almost too ruthless. The kind of male you shouldn’t entertain but can’t stay away from if you tried.

Giovanni’s MO is fueled by revenge. Revenge that leads him to Emilia: an ex mafia princess he intends to use as leverage. Giovanni Santa Maria, is used to getting what he wants when he wants. And he intends to get Emilia to adhere to his every command. Will she? Or is she not at all what he bargained for?

Emilia, is a character I absolutely loved. Beautiful, strong, and smart despite having gone through such immense abuse. Scars physically, and emotionally mar her but she’s no complainer. Nor weakling. She is determined to give Santa Maria a run for his money. At least, she’ll die trying. She’d already suffered enough at the hands of someone else. She’d be damned to endure that again. But where darkness breathes, sparks fly. Can she ignore this magnetic pull between her and the dark mafia Prince? Is Giovanni really as bad as she’d first concluded? Or is he her safest bet? Is he her alley, or are those she deems closest to her—her real enemies?

To find out grab yourself a copy! I’ll be honest, if you’re not into dark mafia type of books—this isn’t for you! However, if you like mystery, suspense, and action-packed story-lines with a bit of romance intertwined; this one’s just right!

They’re Strictly Friends by – Chloe Liese

They’re Strictly Friends by – Chloe Liese

My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

I received this awesome  ARC in exchange for my honest review. This is my first time reading a book by this author. It is a standalone and was quite fun to read.

The story delves in to Elodie and Lucas’ world. They’re both friends that unfortunately experience physical and emotional traumas.

Life throws them major curve-balls, making it difficult to let their guards down.  Or rather the belief they’re worthy to be loved.

Lucas loves Elodie but due to his new set of circumstances; doesn’t feel worthy.

Elodie struggles with insecurities, too. Both feel their baggage’s are way too heavy for each other to take on. But where Lucas pulls away, Elodie pushes to stay present in his life.

This story is fun, raw, and real. Felt like I was a part of the character’s world. Chloe’s writing is brilliant. She did an amazing job illustrating in words things I couldn’t picture otherwise. Her world leapt off the page, sucking me in. I also loved how unique the characters were especially Lucas. I highly recommend reading! You won’t be disappointed!

About the Author

Chloe writes stories that, like people, resist categories. Portraying marginalized, underrepresented voices and experiences, her books are hot, witty, full of heart and keep you on the edge of your seat. She’s an avid reader, Harry Potter lover, and eats more peanut butter cups than she probably should. In early 2019 Chloe received the diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (formerly aligned with Asperger’s Syndrome). She is a vocal proponent of Own Voices writing to represent ASD and is currently writing her own Own Voices Romance featuring a heroine who has ASD but doesn’t know it…yet.
